You have a degree, so you should be educated. 

You have a title, so you should be a role model. 

You have a paycheck , so you should care what the public paying it has to say! 

You say, do as we tell you.  You say, do it our way!  You say, that is not acceptable! 

When a child inquires about your integrity and holds you accountable for your own rules, why are they disrespectful? 

When a child inquires how it is acceptable for you but not for them, what do you say then? 

When a child inquires who is holding you accountable for the rules you made and are breaking?

Keep it from the heart, no matter how it hurts!

Someday you will see all it’s worth!

Not in money, not in fame,

But in the loving heart of your flame!

Keep it close, but don’t hold too tight!

Better to let go, than keep up this fight!

Someone else’s arms, is where you turn,

Had to let go, so you didn’t have to feel the burn!

Keep it simple, it’s not always going to be sweet,

Believe it or not, some people forget to love their children!  I  have not been able to even begin to comprehend how a human being can be so inhumane.  What I know and believe is natural instincts when it comes to parenting, is not consistent with all individuals! 

How can a child go to school and a parent not even remove their child’s paperwork?  I constitute this as neglect.  Why are these children also neglected by our “abuse reporting” system?  

If you must be a certain age to drink alcohol, drive a car, and vote, why do we not have laws, rules, and/or guidelines to be a parent?  You must have a license to drive a car, a degree to be a specialist, but no requirements to parent.  There are no education, financial, or age requirements!  How is this possible?  

This Valentine’s Day, I hope we all remember to love our children.

This is an official love note alert that may be required in today’s world, for an original, handwritten love note sent for Valentine’s Day!  How rare the love note would be, not because of the warning or alert but because they are rare. 

Mailing a letter in this time is a rare occurrence.  Physically writing the note by hand, priceless!  If your love note has the potential to cause an individual to experience any symptoms mentioned in the warning, it may be your legal responsibility to post an alert or warning.  It is also recommended, please send me a love note! 

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Have you been to your local Public Library lately?  Are the subjects that are close to your heart current on the latest information on the subject?  With technology changing so quickly now, EVERYONE, please check the local Public Library.

A BIGGER revelation was unfolded when my daughter was trying to adhere to our local public High School classwork and write a report .  She chose to write about a subject close to our heart, Tourette Syndrome.  She was very displeased to find our area public High School only had outdated material to cover this topic.

As an active advocate for my children, as any parent should be, I am putting M.O.M. (Mom On Mission) armor on and addressing this issue.  Many may not realize the magnitude of this problem.  If a teenager suspects they may have an “issue”, Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, Bipolar, and  even sexually transmitted disease, and turns to their local public High School Library, shouldn’t the data be factual?  This may be the one and only opportunity we have to reach this individual!  

Please help by checking the local public Library in your area and even your Schools about an issue or subject close to your heart!  If you can not identify with one specific issue, please help me by inquiring about the Tourette Syndrome Awareness materials.  You may help an individual trying to identify with themselves, but too embarrassed to ask for help!  Thank you for your support and help giving every individual equal opportunities to up to date information!  I appreciate each individual effort, YOU are MY HERO! 

What is “Facebook Failure”?  Not too long ago, I wrote a blog comparing Facebook with mySpace.  At the time of blogging, I must say, I favored Facebook over mySpace.  It seemed more user friendly and adult based.  The Facebook network has failed as my favorite friend finder and friendship maker network! 

I was searching for previous lost connections from one of my three different High Schools on Facebook.  I went to add a friend and to my surprise, I was warned I might be misusing the application.  I clicked on the link to explain what I was doing, and thought there would be no more problems with Facebook friend finder.

Searching on Facebook for friends on another day, I went to add another lost connection.  Wham!  A pink box pops up informing me I was blocked from the friend function for possible misuse.  I was very shocked and felt violated!  I did not no a Facebook “e-GOD” made decisions on how many friends I could have and add a day! 

Reporting the discontent for Facebook was just as difficult because there is not a “contact us” link that I found.  I also wanted to question how I would be notified the block was lifted, but did not get a response to that question to date.

Please pray to the Facebook “e-God” to revisit the terms!  Thank you!

How do you identify an advocate?  Does obtaining a degree in a certain field qualify the title?  Is ”hands on” training and/or experience in their field required?  Are advocates all the same?    You may be shocked at the answers!

I know I am the best advocate for my children.  I also can be the worst advocate for them if I do not control my personal feelings during these trying times to advocate.  An example is an IEP (Individual Education Plan) meeting.  I once believed administrators and teachers within our public school district had the training and insight that I underestimated myself in having.  Through my own experience, I have discovered not only is our staff uneducated in my child’s special need diagnosis, our school library does not have current data on the subject either!

A parent knows their own child (or they should), better than anyone with any type of degree.  I do not have a P.H.D. but I am a M.O.M.-Mom On Mission!  This is a phrase I will be reciting to myself  at my child’s annual IEP meeting in the near future.

When my child was diagnosed, I had no idea what an IEP even was, let alone, what type of “strategic methods” would help in the classroom.   Little did I know then, the terminology is like a new language.  I did have suggestions and solutions to “strategic methods” that I already implemented in our daily routines.  It’s called parenting to me though!

You can identify an advocate in many ways.  The advocate I want in my child’s corner is in our corner, not just at the ring.  I will describe some traits I have found some of the best advocates to exhibit.  They have helped me be the M.O.M. I want to be!

The individuals I want in our corner will not have fake agenda.  The therapist that understands the key to a recovery or treatment plan is stability is a true advocate.  How does the medical world expect individuals to trust and open up their vulnerable side if they are not going to be consistent with their patient?  Most of the individuals have been ridiculed by peers, adults, and society.  Even a dog that has been beaten will reluctantly come to the abuser, with his tail between his legs!  Everyone must do what is best for their own personal growth, caring enough about others well-being is the new horizon I want to follow!  Thank you for sticking with us in your career adjustment!

Another way to tell an advocate is in their realm is by their heart.  They are not obligated but offered to participate at the meeting.  They are not watching the clock, they are in it for the child, not the hour or paycheck!  Thank you to a special administrator that has assisted in balancing the cheering field!

Finally, an advocate can be a group.  The organization that not only will go to the table with you, but will help keep you organized, state your view when your words contain too much vulgarity-because your buttons are being pushed, and they will EDUCATE the EDUCATORS!  Thank you Boss(e)!

I ask myself this question many times, “What is the symbol of hate?”  I do not recognize the hate symbol evidently.  I hear individuals say different groups are hate groups because of a certain flag, color, symbol, or pattern.  Is this a universal, unspoken code?  Who authorized each of these “universal” symbols? 

You can not show, wear, or display a Confederate (Rebel) flag at  a local school.  At another public school, depending on the race of an assembly speaker, certain students may not wear a white shirt.  Each school will execute a consequence for such displays!

The same schools will tolerate a rainbow symbol displayed, possibly on a shirt.  At one time would have the significant meaning of God’s promise.  Now I understand the rainbow symbolizeses or defines a sexual preference or gay pride. 

Is their a symbol for hate?  Every individual perceives the world, their own way.  The only definition one has for a material object, color, flag, or word is the meaning they have allowed society to place on it.

Have you heard?  President of United States of America gives “shout out”?  Funtime Phelps takes a hit?  We are just keepin’ it real!  WTF?  Not only is this what our country is hearing on a frequent basis, the media has hyper-focus on most negative, malicious, and unimportant stories.  Why do we feed into this type of attention?  For the record, I am not one of the President’s “peeps”!  I would appreciate to be addressed as an American!  How can we be the best critics and tolerate such unprofessionalism in the White House?  When the President had so many balls, I left that ride.  I even let the jokes about him “gettin’ jiggy wit it” slide.  Enough is enough.  Our Olympic heroes doing bong hits!  Is this man not human?  Don’t we all make unbecoming choices from time to time?  What’s in your closet?
